Unofficial & Unauthorized Harry Potter Menu Ideas for the autumn time. Delightful Dumplings, Potter Stew, and Pumpkin Juice Recipes


Let the magic of autumn and the warmth of the holidays bring about magic in your life.
Below are a few suggestions for creating an awesome Harry Potter Themed Autumn Feast.


Harry Potter Menu

Dumbledorf Delightful Dumplings
2 cups of sifted flour
1 1/4 teaspoons of baking powder
3/4 teaspoon of salt
1 Tablespoon of butter
2/3 cup of milk
Directions: Sift dry ingredients together. Next, cut in butter with a knife and add milk a little at a time to make soft dough. Roll 1/2 inch thick on a floured board. Cut into squares and drop in hot oil or a deep fryer, cook for twenty minutes or so depending upon size, can make 10 dumplings.

Potter Stew
2 1/2 cups of water
1 1/2 pounds of lamb, diced
1 teaspoon of salt
1/4 teaspoon of pepper
2 small onions, sliced
2-3 medium sized carrots, sliced
1 celery stalk, diced
2 cups of cubed potatoes, red or white, whatever your preference
1 turnip diced (optional)
1 cup of sweet potato (optional) cubed

Directions: In a crock pot place all of the ingredients, substitute a little red wine in place of water. 2 cups of water to 1/2 cup of red or white wine. Preferred is the red wine in this dish, may also place lamb stock (if available) or beef or chicken broth to give a nice flavor. Cook on low for 4-5 hours in the crock pot. You may also place additional salt and pepper and a little flour on the lamb and cook it slightly on the pan with a little of extra virgin olive oil to sear the meat before placing in the crock pot.



Pumpkin Juice
2 Tablespoons of pumpkin puree, such as the easy pumpkin pie spice mixed pumpkin
1 Tablespoon of apricot puree or apricot preserves
1 cup of apple cider
1 cup of apple juice
1 teaspoon of brown sugar

Directions: Place two heaping tablespoons of pumpkin pie mix, 1 Tablespoon of Apricot Preserves, 1 teaspoon of brown sugar, 1 cup of apple cider, 1 cup of apple juice into a food processor and pulse for about 30 seconds. May add ice and organic ingredients if you like. Can serve warm in a mug with a cinnamon stick, whipped cream and a dash of cinnamon.

Butterbeer, Butterbeer Cupcakes, Witches Brew, excerpts from Unofficial Harry Potter Cookbook: Muggles to Magic, by Gina Meyers

Butterbeer Variation

2 scoops of vanilla bean ice cream
2 Tablespoons of butterscotch syrup
1 bottle of cold cream soda

Directions: In a large mug, place scoops of ice cream, add butterscotch syrup and top with a bottle of cold cream soda. The butterbeer will froth.



Witch’s Brew

1 14oz. can of sweetened condensed milk
1 46oz. can pineapple juice, chilled
1 2-liter bottle of orange soda, chilled
Orange sherbet ice cream.

Directions: In a punch bowl, or jack o’lantern container, stir together sweetened condensed milk, pineapple juice, and orange soda. Top with sherbet and serve over ice.


Easy Butterbeer Cupcakes

1 box Yellow Cake mix
1 box Instant Butterscotch Pudding
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 cup Buttermilk
1/2 cup oil
4 eggs

1 pint heavy whipping cream
1 1/2 cup powdered sugar
1 Tablespoon of butter
1 Tablespoon of  vanilla extract
1 Tablespoon of caramel (Ice Cream Topping)
Directions: Preheat oven to 350F. Line the bottom of cupcake tins with paper liners.
In a mixing bowl, mix together the yellow cake mix, instant butterscotch pudding mix and baking soda. Add in buttermilk, oil and eggs and stir with electric mixer until smooth.
Fill each cupcake tin and bake for 12 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in middle comes out clean. Cool at room temperature.
In a separate mixing bowl, whip up heavy whipping cream until it begins to make peaks. Add the powdered sugar, butter, vanilla extract, and caramel and continue whipping until well blended.

Frog's Eye Salad Recipe


Frog’s Eye Salad
1 lb. (16 ounce package Acini di pepe (small round ball pasta)
1 egg
½ cup Sugar
1 20oz. can pineapple chunks (drain pineapple and reserve juice)
1 30oz. can fruit cocktail (drain fruit cocktail)
1 cup cool whip
1 Tbs. of flour
Dash of salt

Directions: Cook the acini di pepe (small round ball pasta) according
to package directions. In a skillet over low heat, with a whisk, beat
an egg, then stir in reserved juices, sugar, dash of salt. Continue
to stir and slowly add the flour mixture to thicken. Cook over low
heat and stir until bubbling. Turn off heat and allow cooling for a
few minutes. In the medium sized bowl, stir in pineapple chunks and
fruit cocktail. Next, with a spatula, spoon egg pineapple custard
mixture over the pasta and fruit. Lastly, stir in the 1 cup of cool
whip (unthawed). Refrigerate for two hour to allow to set and enjoy.
